'The tiny town of havana - largely abandoned until antiques dealers began opening stores 25 years ago. the scene is almost too cute, but prices are low by standards elsewhere; real antiques seem to cost less than bombay company reproductions. check out antiques and accents (213 first street nw, 850-539-7999) for the good stuff and little river general store (850-539-6900) for its candy counter, old-fashioned shaving supplies and classic toys. for a cup of iced tea to walk around with, try the mockingbird caf (211 first street nw, 850-539-2212), which has a lovely patio and is famous for its cuban sandwich ($6.50 for a large). on your way back to town, detour down old bainbridge road or one of tallahassee's other canopy roads, which the city has protected from encroachment. moss-draped live oaks, sweet gums, hickory trees and pines meet high above the double yellow line. there are no shoulders, so drive, don't bike or walk. (information and a canopy roads map is at www.co.leon.fl.us/pubworks/oper/canopy/index.asp.)'' New York Times
