The Pink Moment - View this location on map ![]() At sunset, people will come outside and look toward the Topa Topa Mountains. When the atmospheric conditions are right - usually light cloud cover - a bluff above town will turn pink. It is called the Pink Moment. When the moment comes, some claim to see a face on Chief Peak; others say that a few times a year the entire valley, not just the mountains, glows with a pinkish hue. A good viewing point is the Meditation Mount retreat (805-646-5508), which has spectacular vistas of the valley. To get there, drive east 2.5 miles from downtown on East Ojai Avenue, turn left onto Reeves Road and go through the orange grove until the road becomes a dead-end.''
