Quincy, Josiah, House - View this location on map ![]() The 1770 Quincy House is an outstanding example of New England Georgian architecture. The clapboarded frame house with quoined pilasters is noted for its delicate classical entrance portico and its monitor roof. Concealed behind a Chinese Chippendale balustrade, the monitor is the oldest known surviving example of this roof form in the country, and is likely the seminal example from which others were modeled. 20 Muirhead Street, Quincy, Massachusetts Historical |
