Olmsted, Frederick Law, House - View this location on map Frederick Law Olmsted was America's preeminent landscape designer and environmental planner, and his designs became prototypes throughout the nation and beyond. He is perhaps best know for his design of New York's Central Park and Boston's 'Emerald Necklace' of parks, but he also planned some 80 other urban parks, as well as parkways, suburban communities and college campuses. From 1883-1903 he lived and worked at this small estate, which he named Fairsted.
