Liberty Hall (Frankfort) - View this location on map

Constructed c. 1796-c. 1800, this two story brick house was built by John Brown (1757-1837), a leading lawyer and politician who was instrumental in gaining statehood for Kentucky. Brown served as U.S. Senator after Kentucky attained Statehood. He patterned his house after the Federal-style architecture of Philadelphia, and it is a fine example of Federal domestic architecture.
