575 Castro St.
In the 1970s Harvey Milk became the first openly gay politician when he won election to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. He was killed along with Mayor George Moscone just one year after taking office. He was known as the "Mayor of Castro Street" and ran a camera store at this address with his partner. Note the second story mural in his memory.
