Draper, the well-known mid-19th-century scientist who, in addition to significant contributions to physics and chemistry, also wrote important works in intellectual history. He is remembered for his pioneering work in photochemistry, especially for discoveries that contributed to the study of light diffraction and spectrum analysis.
