Christ Episcopal Church - View this location on map

Begun in 1846, this edifice is one of the first Gothic Revival churches in the Southern states. Designed by Richard Upjohn, this modest asymmetrical building with a steeply pitched roof was derived from a rural English model. It set the style in the South for a long time, and is considered one of Upjohn's finest expressions in the Gothic style.
